Equine Production and Management

Potomac State College of West Virginia University has created an Equine Production and Management program that will give students the educational training, hands-on experience and confidence they'll need to pursue an exciting career in the horse industry.

Students will receive practical hands-on experience working with the College's herd of more than 50 Quarter Horses, donated by Jewell Evans and the late Bob Evans, of the renowned Bob Evans restaurants and food products.

Additionally, the College owns and operates two working farms totaling over 795 acres.

You will find that our program is the right size for your needs. The Equine program enables students to obtain practical knowledge and experience on all components of the horse industry, including health, management, nutrition, reproduction, selection, training and study of equine business.

Students and faculty have access to state of the art facilities in equine science and activities including the new Equine Center riding arena.
