Prospective International Students

International
Welcome Interested students!

Welcome to Potomac State College of WVU’s International Student website! We are happy to assist you with the process of applying, being admitted, and enrolling as a student here.

Potomac State College of WVU is a fully integrated division of West Virginia University, and offers the personal touches of a smaller campus and community setting.  Students can earn Associates and Bachelor degrees on our campus, as well as transfer on to larger universities.  Because we are a teaching institution, students have full access to their instructors, who are professionals in their respective fields.  Students are never taught nor advised by Teaching Assistants at this institution.  For this reason, we believe Potomac State College of WVU offers a solid academic foundation that encourages lifelong learning for our graduates.

One of the biggest advantages to starting at Potomac State College of WVU is the affordability of tuition.  In fact, our tuition and fees are the lowest in the state of WV for 4 year colleges, and is listed among the top 50 affordable colleges in the nation.

We invite you to tour our website and see what we have to offer in terms of academics, student life and athletics. Check out our viewbook pdf to learn more.

English Language Proficiency (ESL Partnership Programs)
Potomac State College of WVU is committed to helping every student fulfill his/her dream of studying in America.  To that end, we are pleased to offer two options to establish English proficiency for students who do not meet the TOEFL/IELTS requirement of this institution.

We have partnered with American Language Academy (ALA) in Greensboro, NC and The Language Company (TLC) in Frostburg, MD both of whom offer curriculums to support students in learning and/or improving English speaking skills – to offer Conditional Admission to those students completing ESL programs at either ALA or TLC facilities.

Transcript Evaluation
Potomac State College of WVU requires that all students who have attended college or university in their home country have transcripts evaluated by World Education Services (WES), www.wes.org .  This is a fee based service of which the student is responsible for payment. Credit will be awarded accordingly once an evaluation is completed by WES and sent to Potomac State College of WVU.
